Queen Of The South V Clyde Preview

Fri, 30th Jan 2004 12:00am
John Fraser's ankle injury will, as feared, keep him out of tomorrow's match against Queen of the South. Kevin Fotheringham (suspended) and John Potter (groin) will also be missing again.

However, Alan Kernaghan returns to the squad and the manager said:-

"Queen of the South are a bit of a bogey side for us, we seem to struggle to put in a decent performance against them. I can't really understand why that is but we have to try and put a stop to it. They've got a few injury worries but we'll still have to put a good show on.

"Our statistics so far this season show that we are pretty average in the first half and score most of our goals just after half-time. I'd be very much nitpicking if I complained about that but I would like to see us produce a good 90 minute performance. Taking our chances is as important as ever but we have been better at this recently.

- NEXT AWAY DAY: Dumfries

"There was good news off the park yesterday but I wouldn't say it will help us focus because I don't think there were any problems in that department anyway.

"Everybody at the club is doing their best behind the scenes and for some people to say that nothing is being done is wrong. I know as much as anybody about the stadium negotiations but it's only right for the club to be cagey about it because discussions are best kept private until everything is signed, sealed and delivered.

"Overall, things are going well and I look forward to everybody's support again tomorrow."
