Friendly Defeat At Firhill

Wed, 28th Jan 2004 12:00am

Despite today's wintry weather, a "reserve" side took on a reasonably experienced Partick Thistle outfit in a closed door friendly and eventually lost 1-0.

However, Alan Kernaghan was delighted with the overall performance.

Clyde's team featured the remaining under-19s and the first-team squad members not recently in the starting line-up, with the exception of Kevin Fotheringham who has a slight hamstring injury. The manager said:-

"We decided it would be better for Kevin to rest and get himself fully fit for when he is available after suspension. We didn't want to risk playing him and aggravating his injury because we have a vital period of matches coming up."
