Gretna Rematch For Friendly

Tue, 13th Jan 2004 12:00am

Gretna provided the opposition for the second time in four days today, this time for a friendly match with a Bully Wee 'reserve' outfit at Raydale Park.

The match finished 1-1 with Mark Gilhaney scoring Clyde's goal. Players such as Gilhaney, Pat Keogh, Stephen McConalogue and Bryn Halliwell, who have been unable to break into the first team recently, were all given some important match practice and Alan Kernaghan said:-

"These players have had to be patient recently but they need to be professional and make sure it doesn't take them a game or two to settle in once they get a chance. They have to keep looking after themselves and remain fit."

Kevin Fotheringham played as did former Aberdeen and Dundee United midfielder Jamie Buchan as a trialist.
