Praise For Marshall

Sun, 16th Nov 2003 12:00am

Now breaking into the first team for the first time since his arrival on loan from Aston Villa in the summer is midfielder Colin Marshall, and Alan Kernaghan has praised the recent improvement shown by the 19-year-old. The Manager said:-

"Colin has eventually found his feet with us. Like a lot of boys who go to a lower division on loan, he thought it was going to be quite easy and we had a few problems with him early on. In the last two months, however, he has been fantastic and has really come on. He's now beginning to show what he can do."

Kernaghan is also keen for other players on the fringes of the squad to stake their claim for a place in the starting line-up:-

"The team has been doing pretty averagely and the chances have been there for others to take. Colin has been doing that recently and Ian did on Friday. They have to do it consistently now to stay in the team."
