Clubs’ Response To Hagen Incident
On the incident between David Hagen and Leigh Hinds in Newcastle last weekend, today reported in several national newspapers, Manager Alan Kernaghan has responded as follows:-
“It appears to have been an argument that has got out of hand. We’re all a bit shocked by it and we’d rather not have had to deal with it. However, we’ve spoken to David and it seems he wasn’t to blame, so we won’t be taking any action. As far as we’re concerned, that’s the end of the matter. Any future dialogue will be between David, Leigh Hinds and the Police.”
Meanwhile, Aberdeen’s Official Website today revealed that Hinds has been fined two weeks wages. Chief Executive Keith Wyness said:-
“Leigh has been told in no uncertain
Leigh himself admitted he was in the wrong, telling his website, “It was a carry-on that got completely out of hand and I certainly did not mean to harm David. I have apologised to him and I would also like to apologise to everyone connected with Aberdeen as I know I have let a lot of people down. Anyone who knows me will be aware that this was totally out of character and I just wish I could turn the clock back. I now just want to put all of this behind me and concentrate on playing football and doing my best for the Dons.”
