Clyde 1 V 0 Ross County

Sat, 1st Mar 2003 12:00am

Clyde ground out a vital victory and three points at Broadwood today, with Stevie Convery grabbing the winner with a close range header.

Alex Smith's County played with a heavily congested defence and deep midfield, which made for a poor first half. On 35 minutes, however, a surging run and cross by Mark McLaughlin was headed back across goal by Jack Ross at the back post and Convery was waiting to convert.

The second half was a better affair, but Bryn Halliwell really had nothing to do in the Clyde goal and chances to double the lead were wasted at the other end.

A full match report with reaction will appear in the 'Fixtures / Results' section soon.

The other results in the Division 1 were:-
