Clyde V Motherwell
To all supporters who were inconvenienced in any way by the organisation of the above match, on behalf of the Club I offer an unreserved apology.
The problems experienced arose from several factors, the major one being caused by the attendance. From all sources the anticipated attendance was estimated at 4000/4250. This number was actually exceeded by some 1250.
The actual attendance on the day caused the remaining problems as everyone involved from Stadium staff, the Police and Stewards were found wanting. Quite clearly we were all in a comfort zone geared up to deal with smaller crowds. I would expect that all organisations will take the lessons learned to heart and be better prepared for any similar game in the future.
Despite the foregoing I do not think that safety was compromised on the day.
