Sun, 6th Oct 2002 12:00am

The annual Clyde v Clyde Supporters match (in memory of Gordon Russell) will take place tomorrow night at Broadwood Stadium, 7pm kick-off. Alan Kernaghan hasn't yet revealed who will be playing for the Clyde XI, but it is expected that some first team squad members will be participating.

"This has been a long standing fixture," Alan told the website. "We wanted to do it at the end of last season but we just didn't have time. I'm glad we can now hold the fixture. I'm looking forward to it and I hope everyone concerned enjoys themselves, because that is what it is all about. It's also for a very worthy cause."

The event will raise a large sum of money for Clyde FC Youth Development, and all Clyde fans are invited to come along and watch the game and make a small donation to add to the total raised by the supporters taking part. Entry will be free. Club Captain Jack Ross will be picking his supporters' Man of the Match and presenting the winner with an award. John Bean, Head of Youth Development, will also be present to receive the final donation.

The Supporter's XI squad consist of 21 players - one 'keeper and 20 outfield players who will be split into two 10s, with each playing 45 minutes. Manager Gordon Nisbet (who will be assisted by Cameron Macdonald) is keeping his cards close to his chest and won't reveal his teams until tomorrow night, but two practice sessions have already been held by the underdogs who are hoping to pull off a shock result...

The squad is as follows:-

Goalkeeper: Andy Peters

Outfield: Nick Clark, Craig McNulty, Scott Law, John Paul Rose, Rod MacKenzie, Stevie Russell, Steven Hunter, Bob Cochrane, Stevie Morton, John Slaven, Brian Wands, Graham Forrest, Andy Muir, Graham Mallinson, Steven Brown, Stephen Bowman, Bobby Gracey, Findlay Mackay, John Conaghan and David McMillan.

Stevie Morton, who organised the event, said - "I'm just glad the fixture has finally came to fruition, after some uncertainty about it continuing. Hopefully everyone will have a night to remember."

If you can't make it along, a report on the match will appear on the website on Tuesday.
