Summer Sevens Continues To Grow

By Graham Forrest
Fri, 26th Jul 2002 12:00am

The highly successful Clyde Supporters Summer Soccer Sevens idea, initially started by Stevie Morton, is continuing to be a great success amongst the support. The numbers participating are increasing steadily, with 18 playing this week.

The event takes place every Wednesday at 8pm, at the Hamilton Palace Sports Complex. There is no need to book your place - all you have to do is turn up and start playing once the teams have been picked (usually "whites" v "colours"). The games are played in good spirit, but try telling anyone there that the result doesn't matter!

The intention is, as the event grows, to purchase bibs and other items to help make the game more enjoyable. Although it was started as a Summer activity, the popularity of it may mean that it will continue throughout the year.

For only £2 a night, you'd be more than welcome to come along.
