Manager Alan Kernaghan has confirmed today that Livingston’s Number Two ‘keeper Dave McEwan is to join Clyde on loan for a year.
A graduate of Livingston’s Youth Academy, Dave made his Livi first team debut in a 5-0 victory over Airdrieonians at the end of the Almondvale club’s First Division Championship-winning season and has since established himself as a more than capable deputy for Javier Broto. The young keeper showed considerable composure when he was asked to replace a badly injured Broto in an SPL match against Hibs last season.
The Livi management team highly rate Dave and feel he can only benefit from a season of competitive first team action with Clyde, who at a stroke have just gained one of Scotland’s most promising goalkeepers. It should be a move from which everyone benefits.
