Recap
The Bully Wee exited the Scottish Gas Scottish Cup in the second round stage after 120 minutes ending in stalemate and a penalty shootout which saw 24 spot kicks being taken.
Darren Young made three changes to the Clyde side for his first game, with Craig Howie, Tommy Robson and Liam Scullion coming in for Darren Lyon, Andy Murdoch and the injured Ross Lyon.
Clyde took the lead on the stroke of the interval when Aidan Glavin could only parry a shot from Robbie Leitch into the path of Jordan Allan, who slotted home.
Allan should have doubled the advantage in the second half when he intercepted a throw out from Glavin, but rushed his chance into the open goal and shot wide.
The Black and Whites equalised two minutes from the end of normal time when a long free-kick from inside the Elgin half was thumped forward, and the unmarked Jack Murray guided a header across the face of goal and into the net.
The tie went to extra-time and The Bully Wee had an opportunity to retake the lead from the penalty spot after Logan Dunachie was barged. Dunachie took the spot kick himself, but Glavin denied him.
There would be a further 24 penalties taken at the end of 120 minutes in a marathon shootout, with each player remaining on the park taking one before reverting to the first takers again. Paul McKay saw his second effort saw, whilst Tony Dingwall, who was initially denied by Hemfrey, made no mistake this time to secure an 8-7 penalty shootout win for Elgin.
