Recap
Clyde opened their pre season friendly with a match against a young Rangers side.
For the first time in a number of seasons Clyde fans were able to recognise the vast bulk of the home side with only representatives from the Bully Wee’s Under 19s side being unfamiliar to the majority of the support.
Rangers started the stronger of the two sides with the Ger’s Davidson spurning the best opportunities. Paul McHale and Stevie Masterton had long range shots but it was only in the second half that Clyde began to take the upper hand.
Imrie, O’Donnell and Arbuckle had the best chances but Clyde’s lack of a cutting edge was the biggest concern to come from this game.
The side missed McGowan’s presence on the right flank and fans will be glad to see Neil McGregor return to full fitness. In fairness the defence has looked strong, with only one goal conceded in the three matches to date, but the fans will be relieved when the squad is strengthened to give further depth and options.
CLYDE: Cherrie, Harris, Malone, Higgins, McKeown (Bradley), McHale, Bryson (D McGowan), O’Donnell, Arbuckle (McKenna), Imrie, Masterton (MacLennan). SUB NOT USED: Scott
