Clyde Tots

The Clyde Tots programme offers each pre-school child the opportunity to be part of an energetic, dynamic and fun physical activity through the use of colourful equipment and carefully designed curriculum.

More importantly, at Clyde Tots we are passionate about using football as a medium to maximise development in key areas of this formative age group from two years old. We achieve this through a completely new, exciting and creative curriculum that works alongside the latest government initiatives to allow the greatest development of your child.

Learning through sport can play an important part in a child's life and promotes confidence, independent thinking and positive attitudes. It also ensures that children and young people develop the knowledge and understanding, skills, capabilities and attributes which they need for mental, emotional, social and physical wellbeing now and in the future.

About Clyde Tots

This programme aims to provide a positive experience for children and parents. It is designed to encourage children's social skills and confidence. Ensuring that all children have the opportunity to experience physical activity in a fun filled environment and encourage them to choose exercise as a healthy way of life. All sessions will be delivered by experienced community coaches with a passion for sport and all coaches are SFA qualified and Disclosure Scotland checked.

What Happens at Clyde Tots?

Children will take part in fun football activities lasting 45 minutes each week, indoors. Each week is themed so they will get to meet and hear about Alfie the Adventurous footballer or Caroline the Confident striker or maybe even meet Woody, Jessie or Buzz from Toy Story. The sessions starts with a fun warm-up before the fun physical activities using footballs, multi coloured equipment and music. All equipment is supplied by Clyde FCCF and children will receive a certificate at the end of the block.

We endeavour to make children’s learning in Health and Sport a positive experience through our complimentary contribution and specialist expertise and knowledge.

By drawing upon our specialist expertise, our experience will provide children with active, fun physical activities that are realistic, relevant, fun and enjoyable.

Clyde Tots is both healthy and fun. Child Obesity is steadily on the rise with children as young as two years old being affected. The Clyde Tots programme uses our national game to promote physical activity and healthy choices at a key development age. Clyde Tots helps children develop self-confidence as well as motor, listening, socialisation, and life skills within the framework of Football. Studies show that children who play sports tend to have higher self-esteem and body image than those who do not. Football in this unique curriculum is simple and effective for all levels to learn and enjoy.

Our fun classes for 2 - 4 year olds introduce children to sport and for many of them it is their first time at a class. We always make sure that the child is welcomed into the class and we endeavour to make sure that all children have a fun time. And for some it takes longer than others so patience is the key work word.

Clyde Tots

We always look to create a fun filled environment that the children will thrive on and you as a parent/carer will play a key part in the programme. The session is led by the coach and will follow a theme of the day which is designed to capture the attention and let them use their imagination as often as possible.

The benefits of these classes have been great to see, from making new friends, kicking a ball, jumping over hurdles or sitting listening to the coach as he/she tells them the story about Alfie the Adventurous footballer.

In addition to all this a structured physical development programme which is flexible and in place to assist in the development of their Fundamental Movement Skills required to play many sports.

As with all our programmes the key word is fun, so the high energy, entertaining curriculum fits perfectly for 2 - 4 year olds.
