Equity Action Plan

During Season 2024/25, Clyde Football Club will demonstrate its support for various equity issue campaigns in the following ways.

  1. Articles on equity issues will be included in “The Clyde View” matchday programme and included in news items on the official website: www.clydefc.co.uk.
  2. Clyde FC will demonstrate the tangible support of its players to equity issues by the inclusion of “Show Racism the Red Card” cards publicly during the season.
  3. Clyde’s policy against racism and sectarianism is incorporated in the supporters’ charter.
  4. Any racist and sectarian material will be immediately removed from within New Douglas Park and its immediate surroundings.
  5. Clyde FC has adopted UEFA’s ten-point action plan for professional football clubs. Paragraph six of Clyde Football Club’s anti-discrimination policy makes it clear that Clyde FC will not tolerate discriminatory behaviour in any form and will take “appropriate action in whatever context it occurs”. The Club’s complete anti-discrimination policy will be displayed permanently in the Codes of Practice section of the Club’s official website.
    1. Clyde FC will make public address announcements condemning racist chanting at matches, in the event of this occurring in any part of New Douglas Park or if racist chanting by Clyde FC supporters occurs at other grounds.
    2. It will be a stated condition for Clyde FC season ticket holders that they do not take part in racist abuse.
    3. In conjunction with New Douglas Park and police authorities Clyde FC will take action to prevent the sale of racist literature inside and outside the ground.
    4. Clyde FC players have been informed, via the Club’s discipline code, that those who engage in racial or religious abuse will be disciplined.
    5. As required, other clubs will be contacted to ensure they understand Clyde FC policy on racism, sectarianism, bigotry and discrimination.
    6. A common strategy policy for dealing with racist abuse will be encouraged between Clyde FC’s stewards and Police Scotland for dealing with racist abuse.
    7. Any racist graffiti will be removed from New Douglas Park as a matter of urgency.
    8. Clyde FC’s equal opportunities policy in relation to employment and service provision is reviewed on an ongoing basis.
    9. Clyde Football Club will work with all other groups and agencies, such as the players union, supporters, schools, voluntary organisations, youth clubs, sponsors, local authorities, local businesses and police, to develop pro-active programmes and make progress to raise awareness of campaigning to eliminate racial abuse and discrimination.
