Glasgow Cup

The 17s Glasgow Cup run re-started tonight at Lennoxtown against a very good Celtic side. The home team started strongly and took the lead early on when they caught our defence ball watching. The young Bully Wee defended well and snatched an equaliser from Kane struck the ball towards goal that defelcted into the net - Half time 1-1
Disaster for Clyde 13 minutes into the 2nd half when Duddy received a red card for an off the ball incident and to add to our troubles we went 2-1 down. Celtic were controlling the game now and went 3-1 up. As if things weren,t hard enough we were reduced to 9 men when F McGhee received a 2nd yellow card. Clyde showed a bit of character and a Ferguson shot reduced the defecit to a goal but the pressure the 11 men were applying got the home team their 4th goal to secure a 4-2 victory. A lack of discipline cost us dearly tonight but hopefully the young players learned something from this match that they learn from

Newcastle trip

Our 13s,14s,15s and 16s all travelled down to play our friends in the North East and had a tremendous day out. All young players will hopefully take something from this visit to hopefully develop them even further in their education. The 13s and 14s gave a very good account of themselves but lost out by a couple of goals, the 15s managed to score one more goal than Newcastle to record a very good victory and the 16s came from three goals behind to secure a very creditable draw. The score's do not matter but getting a victory and a draw against this level of oppostion is a credit to everyone involved
