Michael Oliver Returns to Clyde

The club is pleased to announce the signature of Michael Oliver from Lowland League side Cumbernauld Colts.

The 26-year-old defender is returning for his second spell with The Bully Wee, having previously been on the books between 2011 and 2013.

That period ended with Michael suffering a serious knee injury, following which he has has to rebuild his career after a lengthy recovery period.

Clyde manager, Barry Ferguson said: “We had Michael watched several times last season and received some very good reports about him. I know that he was used in various positions during his last spell with the club, but he’s 100% a centre half and he’ll be pushing for a starting place in that position.

“He’s had a long road back from a serious injury, going amateur and then into the Lowland League, but he’s worked hard and he’s ready to step back up again.

“He’s hungry to succeed and he deserves another go at this level. There were two other senior clubs chasing Michael so I’m really happy that he’s chosen Clyde again.”
