Comment
John brings considerable experience to the position of manager at Broadwood.
In his playing days as a defender, he enjoyed a career that spanned twelve years and almost 350 appearances.
After his retirement in 1988, his first foray into coaching came when he was appointed as assistant manager of Dundee. In 1997, he made the step up to manager at Dens Park and steered the Dark Blues to the top of the First Division.
Subsequent spells as boss at Queen’s Park and Morton saw him earn two championships, with time in charge of Bellshill and Albion Rovers also adding to his knowledge of the Scottish game.
John, having previously worked with director of football Neil Watt, was initially brought to the club as a coach. In November, he was subsequently asked to fill the manager vacancy for the rest of the 2009-10 campaign.
