Jim Duffy was quick to identify Chic as the man he wanted to assist him with the task of changing Clyde's forturnes.

Chic played for no fewer than eleven clubs during his playing days. His career was usually high-profile, thanks to both his undoubted talent as a footballer and the controversy that seemed to follow him.

The midfielder featured more times for Partick Thistle than any other club, but probably enjoyed his best time during a season at Easter Road where his performances earned much praise.

Chic retired in 2003 and soon had a brief spell as a coach at Firhill. His football brain and natural enthusiasm for the game are sure to benefit the Bully Wee.
