Jim was appointed as manager of the Bully Wee in February 2011 and brings a great deal of experience to the club.

Jim enjoyed a playing career spanning over 15 years, during which time he featured regularly for three clubs; Greenock Morton, Partick Thistle and Dundee. By the time he retired in 1996, Jim had notched almost 400 senior appearances.

The latter years of his playing days at Dens Park also saw him move into coaching, as he took on a player-manager role. He led the Dark Blues to a League Cup Final at Hampden and went on to manage Hibernian, before working as a coach with big clubs in England.

Jim's management career resumed with Dundee in 2002 and once again a visit to Hampden was secured, this time in the Scottish Cup. After leaving Dens again in 2005, short spells working at Hearts and Norwich City followed.

His last role before arriving at Broadwood was manager of Brechin City, a position he left in May 2010 after taking the Hedgemen to the First Division Play-Offs.
