Clyde looked to put a halt to an alarming run of home results against old rivals Thistle at Broadwood.

The home side certainly stared brightly and went very close when MacLennan volleyed wide from 20 yards.

Their bright start was rewarded in 10 minutes, when a precise Masterton delivery was met powerfully by skipper McKeown to put the home side one up.

This stung Thistle into action and only 4 minutes later Thistle were level. A rather soft free kick was awarded and Kinniburgh's deep delivery was only partially cleared by Higgins. The ball was knocked back into the danger area and Damon Gray fired home.

The turning point in the match came on 29 minutes, again from a Thistle free kick. Twaddle attempted a long range shot but mis-directed straight to Roberts who deflected the ball past the stranded Hutton.

Clyde were unable to rise to the challenge, and it was no surprise when Thistle added to their lead. Again a very soft free kick was given to Thistle for offside and Tuffey's long free kick was headed into the box by an unchallenged Twaddle, Gray dummied well, and the unmarked Chapman fired home.

Clyde's second half response was meek at best, and only a harshly disallowed Clarke goal, could gloss over the lack of fight and endeavor that may have appeased the fans slightly.

In fact Thistle could have easily have added to their lead, when Rowson's wonderful effort came crashing off the underside of the bar and away to safety.

Thistle's domination would see them score a fourth goal, when the impressive Gray sprinted clear of both McKeown and McGregor before slotting part an exposed Hutton.
