Clyde FC School of Football

Glasgow Southside Branch

The Clyde FC School of Football Southside Branch (CSOF-SB) is a Supporters' Trust initiative launched in September 2008 with the intention of taking Clyde Football Club's coaching programmes to a wider community audience. There seemed no more apt place to start than the club's traditional heartlands of Rutherglen and surrounding areas.

The sessions are open to children aged 7-12 years who are already with a team and are looking for some extra coaching, or those new to the game and simply trying to get on the player pathway.

Coaching sessions take place, at Toryglen Regional Sports Centre, every Friday evening from 6-8pm.

The first session is free as an introductory offer. Thereafter, membership costs £25 where the child receives a full Clyde training strip and a further three free coaching sessions.

The cost per session is then £3 on a pay as you play basis. Our coaches are SFA qualified (level 3 or working towards this level), first aid trained and enhanced disclosure checked.

At present we don't play in a league structure but all age groups play friendly fixtures on a regular basis against local opposition.

Our aim is to promote a positive, safe, non-competitive environment to play and enjoy development football. We employ world-renowned Coerver coaching methods, as per Clyde FC direction, and can also operate goalkeeper coaching sessions for any prospective goalkeepers.

Children who display the required ability and attitude will have the potential to progress to the Clyde youth academy at age 12.
